this new idea is the worst most ridiculous yet
this entire game is based around battles of which there are 3 possible outcomes
1 win
2 loose
3 draw
in every case you battle until one of these outcomes is reached!
even if the battle is lost some damage is do to the stronger player
for you to say the fleet is lost with no battle is ridicule
how did the fleet get destroyed? is there now some form of esp (extra sensory perception?)
this is wrong you have too undo this change it is completely against the entire concept of the game!
it is not acceptable you can not do this
of all the steps too far this one is moronic to say a battle can be won pre-battle

yes why not just stop all battles and expeditions and defense and just randomly kill us off

Well I can understand this. Basically if you're fleet is such much smaller and dies while dealing 0 damage it auto generates it. This reduces server load.
Game play wise it makes sense as I'm sure some of you have killed pirates or something with such overwhelming force your first volley kills everything at a range greater than the enemy ships so that they don't even return fire.
Gameplay wise, this prevents people from skipping espionage tech and just spy/probing am enemy with 1 unit. Ie, fighter, scourge, etc. To get full fleet information from combat report (fleet numbers. Upgrades, etc) when normally their spies would not be capable of it or would require a significant amount of spies being sacrificed which are not cheap relative to 1 combat ship

What do you think is going to happen?
Dreads will fire before fighter reaches range to fire
Weapon impacts on fighter will destroy it
Fighter damage dealt = 0
Do you need the visual for it to be a real occurrence?
